About this role
**Description**
Do you want to contribute to the operational efforts for the environmental work of schools in Gothenburg? The Development and Transformation Unit at the Primary School Administration is currently seeking five individuals to join a special team that will map, develop improvement proposals, and actively work to reduce waste in the city's schools during 2026.
**Responsibilities**
In the role of Waste Coach, you will map, analyze, and support our operations, including primary schools and cultural schools, in their waste management. You will create practical support materials, guidelines, and routines that help the operations develop a more sustainable approach.
The work involves both strategic thinking and practical implementation – from identifying areas for improvement to testing solutions in pilot projects. The assignment lasts for 12 months, with the goal of strengthening the administration's capacity to prevent and reduce waste.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Planning and conducting visits to all primary schools and selected units within the cultural school to map waste management.
- Providing advice and support to the operations in waste management and prevention.
- Offering coordinated support to operations with specific challenges.
- Contributing to the establishment of clearer structures and responsibilities in waste management.
- Developing materials, communication efforts, and guides.
- Supporting the implementation of the project to test and evaluate new solutions.
**Qualifications**
You have post-secondary education in a relevant field such as waste management, environmental studies, circular economy, communication, or behavior change. The position also requires excellent language skills, both written and spoken. We also expect you to have experience and knowledge of working in digital work environments.
It is advantageous if you have experience in the following areas:
- Change management or behavior change.
- Working with waste issues and/or have education in waste and resource flows.
- Driving communication issues within the framework of projects, preferably related to CSR or other related themes.
As a person, you are well-organized, flexible, and enjoy collaborating. You can both give and receive input together with others. You possess strong social skills as you will meet various stakeholders and individuals in different contexts. You can drive work forward and get things done. You can work independently and see the big picture in the small details and the small details in the big picture, and you can make independent decisions in line with the assignment.
