Department Head of Operations Support and Finance in Critical Infrastructure

In Northern Dalarna, approximately 35,000 residents live, and over 1,000 companies, along with numerous vacation homes and tourists, both summer and winter, require drinking water and sustainable waste management solutions. With the mission to promote "sustainable life - together", Nodava AB (Northern Dalarna Water & Waste) is a municipally-owned competence company tasked with managing and developing property in the form of facilities and equipment for water supply, sewage management, and waste management in Mora, Orsa, and Älvdalen municipalities. Nodava's Business Support and Finance department is structured with the aim of achieving coordination and a holistic view of the company's governance and support functions, creating good conditions for strategic business management, and offering a clear support function for core operations. In the development phase Nodava is currently experiencing, we are seeking someone who is motivated by leading others, coordinating collaborations, and creating engagement to achieve common goals. As department head, you will play a crucial role in forming a business-oriented and efficient support system that is critical to Nodava's ability to achieve its strategic focus of having satisfied customers, balanced finances, an appropriate organization, and contributing to sustainable community development. Department Responsibilities The department's scope includes both strategic and administrative support functions. The team consists of ten employees with tasks in business planning and follow-up, financial management, accounting, communication, document management and archives, contract management, procurement, internal administrative support, and business development with a focus on digitalization and information security. The function reports directly to the CEO and is part of Nodava's management team. Your Tasks • Responsible for steering, driving, and developing the department's operations with a focus on owner and customer needs, in accordance with applicable legislation and governing documents. • Actively participate in Nodava's development as a company and as a member of the CEO's management team. • Lead, motivate, and develop department employees towards goal achievement. • Collaborate with owner municipalities' corresponding functions on matters important to the owner companies and Nodava. • Represent Nodava in various networks and contacts with business, authorities, and organizations based on the management assignment and finance function's areas of responsibility. Your Profile Nodava operates critical societal infrastructure, and both water and waste industries face exciting challenges. Leading the Business Support and Finance department requires a strategic approach with the ability to weave long-term significance into considerations and actions. We are seeking someone with management experience and good insight into business management. The assignment requires a holistic view and an excellent ability to combine complex information and various considerations. Assets include knowledge in financial areas and understanding and applying commercial principles. With the target group in focus, you have a good ability to communicate clearly, articulately, and engagingly, both verbally and in writing. We are seeking candidates with a relevant university degree or equivalent education acquired otherwise. Knowledge of the political decision-making process is an advantage. Good digital competence is a prerequisite for the assignment, and you have insight into how digital working methods can streamline and develop operations. Your leadership will be a crucial part of shaping Nodava's success in meeting future challenges. We therefore particularly welcome experience in change management and development of governance and support functions. The management role requires a strong ability to lead, motivate, and collaborate with others to collectively achieve Nodava's common goals. It is also important that you have integrity, are stable, and can distinguish between personal and professional matters. The position involves participation in security-sensitive operations. An approved security review without placement in the security class is a requirement before employment. As the position may involve some travel within Mora, Orsa, and Älvdalen, a B driver's license is required. Your workplace will be in Nodava's premises in Orsa. The work involves full-time employment. This is a permanent position with immediate start date according to agreement.
