About the Department
The Simulator Department belongs to the Flight Unit at F 7 Såtenäs. The department's mission is to operate and maintain the C-130 Hercules simulator as well as JAS39 Gripen simulators and tactical support systems. We also support other units and export countries with JAS 39 simulators and tactical support systems.
Main Responsibilities
As department head of the Simulator Department at the Flight Unit, you will be part of the unit manager's management team. The department head is responsible for planning, leading, and following up on the department's work. You have full personnel responsibility and are responsible for your employees' skills development and work environment. Your leadership is crucial for the department to deliver high quality in both operations and maintenance. You will lead or participate in working groups and development projects within the area of operation, which involves contact with Headquarters, the Swedish Defense Materiel Administration, and industry. You will have a day-to-day operational responsibility – where presence, responsiveness, and clear leadership are key to success.
Qualifications/Requirements
• Academic degree with suitable orientation for the work or equivalent knowledge assessed as equivalent by the employer
• Good ability to express yourself verbally and in writing, in Swedish and English
• B driver's license, manual transmission
• Swedish citizenship and approved security and register screening

Meritorious
• Current and relevant experience from a leadership role
• Experience and knowledge of the Swedish Armed Forces' management support system
• Experience in technical service within the Swedish Armed Forces
• Basic knowledge of simulators and computer systems

Employment Type: Permanent employment. The Swedish Armed Forces apply a six-month probationary period.

The position requires physical and mental ability, conducting service trips, participation in training, exercises in the war organization. Wellness and physical training are a natural part of everyday life, and the position requires a certain physical ability. Since both positions and tasks are linked to a war organization, you will also be war-placed. Skaraborg Air Wing is a versatile and unique air wing. Here you'll find fighter aircraft and the Swedish Armed Forces' combined transport and special flight resources. We conduct basic and position training for conscripted recruits and train all Swedish and foreign Gripen pilots. The unit also participates in many missions. In Sweden, the operations are located in Såtenäs, Malmen, Arlanda, and Karlsborg. Abroad, we are responsible for Gripen support in Thailand and for Swedish personnel at the international transport flight cooperation Heavy Airlift Wing in Hungary.
