Laboratory Medicine in Dalarna consists of clinical chemistry, clinical microbiology, and transfusion medicine, where we collaborate across departments. The operation spans the entire county with laboratories in Avesta, Borlänge, Falun, Ludvika, and Mora. The laboratory's goal is to provide diagnostic analyses that can be requested by other healthcare services and to ensure the availability of blood. Within Laboratory Medicine Dalarna, there are 155 employees. We are now seeking a department head for the clinical chemistry laboratory in Falun. You will manage approximately 25 employees in clinical chemistry, including hematology, general chemistry, immunochemistry, coagulation, sample reception, sampling, chromatography, and protein analysis.

The department head plays a central role in creating the conditions for work within the department, as well as contributing to organization-wide tasks. You will lead and develop the operations based on risk management, regulations, organizational and financial frameworks, as well as following the region’s policy documents. Your role includes developing effective, sensible, and feasible solutions to problems and challenges in daily operations. You have the ability to see the whole picture, make priorities, and drive development in line with the organization’s long-term goals and strategies.
The role includes responsibilities for personnel, quality, development, and work environment. You will work closely with the Laboratory Medicine department head group, particularly with the other department head in clinical chemistry, and will be part of the management team for Laboratory Medicine.

Requirements:
• Bachelor’s degree
• Good knowledge of Swedish, both spoken and written
• Good knowledge of English
Preferred:
• Previous management experience
• Experience in healthcare, particularly in laboratory operations
