About this role

Procurement and Logistics Department Region Uppsala's Management Office is part of Region Uppsala, one of Uppsala County's largest employers. The Management Office is led by the Regional Director and consists of approximately one thousand employees. With a governing, supporting, and coordinating role, the Management Office is tasked with supporting the political leadership and administrations to ensure the political direction is implemented across the region's various operations. Our Operations The Procurement and Logistics Department is a new department at Region Uppsala's Management Office with overall responsibility for the region's procurement, tendering, and logistics operations. The department supports operations in areas such as market analysis, supplier follow-up, product environmental chemistry, supplier sustainability issues, and lifecycle analysis. A crucial part of the department's mission is to strengthen the region's logistical capabilities. The department consists of nearly 70 employees. The department has comprehensive responsibility for the region's procurement and logistics operations at strategic, tactical, and operational levels. To ensure a functioning and efficient logistics flow, the central warehouse operations are currently organized within the new department. The Procurement and Logistics Department also has overall responsibility for ensuring that operational procurement and logistics management at healthcare units is carried out efficiently, equivalently, and with high quality. Your Mission As department head, you are responsible for developing the region's procurement, tendering, and logistics operations. The department is responsible for procurement of medical-technical equipment, goods, services, and construction contracts. You will drive and develop the central management of the region's logistical capabilities. To achieve an efficient and cohesive logistics flow, planning, management, and implementation must be coordinated at the system level – from strategic decisions to operational implementation. You will ensure financial balance through budget monitoring and resource optimization, and work on organizational development to strengthen the department's ability to meet needs and challenges. You will lead and develop employees and managers in your management team and promote an inclusive and development-oriented work environment. Your mission also includes collaborating with regions, authorities, and other stakeholders. You will be part of Region Uppsala's Management Office management team, management office management network, and report to the Regional Director. Your Qualifications We are seeking someone with academic education relevant to the assignment or education and experience that the employer deems equivalent. You should be competent in subject matter and the regulations associated with the area. You have experience leading and developing logistics and procurement work at a strategic level, preferably in a politically governed organization. We also desire documented experience in management and leadership in regions, municipalities, or government agencies. You need to possess excellent verbal and written communication skills and be able to work systematically and proactively. Experience in leading other managers is meritorious. Your Competence You have the ability to create and maintain good relationships and build a trustworthy climate for cooperation and collaboration both internally and externally. You work from a holistic perspective and can translate and break down political goals into operational objectives. You focus on governance processes and support the political leadership and corporate management. You inspire confidence and build relationships through your pedagogical way of communicating with both politicians and operations. This ability forms the basis of a trusted leadership.
