About this role
E.ON in Sweden is part of the international energy group E.ON SE with headquarters in Essen, Germany. Within the group, around 70,000 people work in 17 countries. Around 2,100 dedicated employees work across Sweden. Our Nordic headquarters is located in Malmö. In Sweden, we deliver electricity, heating, and smart energy solutions to over one million households and businesses. E.ON's role is to take responsibility and drive development forward, so that more can transition. Through our investments and our customers' willingness to contribute, we work to continue electrifying society and meet future energy needs.
E.ON's local grid business is in an exciting phase. The electricity network, with one million connected customers, is to be further developed to meet future requirements in an optimal and efficient manner. This is a key role for those who want to lead during a time of development, with a strong societal mission and long-term responsibility.
About the Role
As Department Manager for Project & Facility LNA (Local Grid Business), you are responsible for and lead an operation that develops, builds, and manages E.ON's 134,000-kilometer-long local grid in Sweden. You will lead a national organization consisting of 10 groups, each with a group manager, distributed across the country. The local presence of your groups is crucial, while your assignment is national. In this role, you significantly contribute to Sweden's energy transition.
You have overall responsibility for ensuring that our network infrastructure is built and maintained with high quality, efficiency, and in line with current and future customer needs. Always with a strong focus on safety. You will closely collaborate with adjacent internal operations. You are part of the Local Grid Business management team, where everyone's responsibility is to step outside their own area and contribute to the entire business's development.
The operation is geographically spread across large parts of Sweden, making your ability to lead remotely a key to success, as well as regularly being present at local offices to build internal and external relationships. We do not have our own field personnel, but maintain a close and good collaboration with our contracted entrepreneurs who perform all field work.
In the role, you are responsible for:
• Leading and developing an organization with 10 managers and approximately 100 employees.
• Ensuring high network availability, meaning as few power outages as possible for our customers.
• Ensuring investment projects in the network are delivered according to plan and technically documented.
• Continuously maintaining the electricity network in an optimal manner.
• Being a present leader with regular visits to the operations.
• Driving change work focusing on development, digitalization, and optimization of the business.
• Collaborating broadly internally within the company, and externally with major customers and municipalities, as well as with our local contractors.
We have offices in Malmö, Hässleholm, Halmstad, Växjö, Kalmar, Nässjö, Norrköping, Örebro, Stockholm, and Sundsvall. Placement is possible in any of these locations. The role requires extensive travel.
Your Experience
We are looking for someone who has:
• Multiple years of experience leading complex organizations and managers, preferably remotely and across many offices.
• Academic background as a civil engineer or equivalent experience.
• Strong business understanding and experience working with investment-heavy operations.
• Experience from the energy industry or similar infrastructure sectors is highly meritorious.
• Good understanding of societal development and experience building sustainable relationships both internally and externally.
You are a leader who combines technical competence with a strategic holistic perspective. With your ability to build strong relationships and create collaboration, you drive development that delivers concrete results, both for the business and society at large. As part of the Local Grid Business management team, you take broad responsibility for the whole. You actively contribute to the business's strategic development and collaborate closely with other department managers to create joint progress.
With us, you get a leadership role with significant mandate and opportunity to make a real difference. You become part of a company at the center of the energy transition, where sustainability, innovation, and societal benefit guide everything we do. You will also have the opportunity to work with happy, knowledgeable, and committed colleagues who always want what is best for the customer.
At E.ON, we actively work with inclusion - it is crucial to drive the energy transition forward. We want you to feel welcome! We strive to create a safe work environment with meaningful tasks and good opportunities for development. We continually challenge ourselves to create a welcoming workplace where we hope you will thrive.
Welcome to apply for the position no later than November 24th.
