About Us Department 355 is an internal medicine ward focusing on diabetes, endocrinology, and gastroenterology. The department has 21 patient beds distributed across three modules with seven beds per module. As a nurse, you will be responsible for one such module during day, evening, and weekend shifts. Our atmosphere is relaxed, permissive, and inclusive. During daytime Monday - Friday, a pharmacist is available to support you in pharmacological work, and a resource nurse provides support for all group nurses with tasks such as admissions, intravenous medication administration, and care planning. We have a clear job description that sets the framework for daily nursing work. The department runs an internal training program with regular lectures aimed at increasing competence around the most common medical conditions. If you are a newly graduated nurse, we offer mandatory mentor support during your first year. Even those who have worked for a while can get a mentor if desired. We have individual schedule planning, which means you work a mix of day/evening/weekend shifts with great opportunity to influence and shape your individual schedule. Night shifts are handled by permanent night teams on the ward. Once a year, you'll have an individual development conversation where we write a personalized competence development plan for the coming year. Job Responsibilities With the patient at the center, you perform nursing tasks guided by medical knowledge and clinical assessment. You conduct evaluations and take actions. You lead nursing work and closely collaborate with nursing assistants, doctors, pharmacists, physiotherapists, and occupational therapists. The ward covers a broad spectrum of internal medicine conditions, providing you with a comprehensive internal medicine platform. Our work environment is fast-paced yet permissive and educational. About You We are seeking a licensed nurse. Experience in emergency or inpatient care is meritorious. Experience working with Melior and SAMSA is also beneficial. You who apply should be capable of making holistic assessments and prioritizing and structuring your workday while being team-driven. You are unafraid of taking initiative and are a skilled organizer. We want a colleague who can methodically work with risk assessments and care plans to create maximum value for our patients. Meet some of our employees - Sahlgrenska University Hospital For potential recruitment of nurses/doctors with foreign certification/specialist credentials, the relevant position will be preceded by a process to meet requirements for Swedish certification/specialist credentials. Newly graduated nurses will be part of the Clinical Base Year, our introduction program. The Clinical Base Year is mandatory and lasts throughout your first year of employment. It includes lectures, nursing supervision, and practical training at the Simulation Center. Additionally, you will serve on at least two different wards to broaden your competence.
