The client places great trust in us, and your work as a security guard is important. You contribute during each shift to creating safety and security for the client and the community at large, as your work provides preventive protection against crime, improved fire safety, and much more. You will meet all members of the community, and it is essential that you are clear, calm, and able to make thoughtful decisions.
Here are some of the most common tasks:
A patrolling security guard works with preventive security. You will be mobile and visit clients in your district/area to check that alarms are activated, windows and doors are closed and locked, electrical equipment is turned off, and that no unauthorized persons are present on the premises/area. Supervisory monitoring is conducted both indoors and outdoors, often at night, alone, and you will work shifts. The work is independent and mobile.
In stationary monitoring, you work on-site at the client’s location. This can involve everything from reception duties to patrolling and staffing monitoring centers.
**Qualifications**
In addition to the personal qualities we seek and describe in the various assignments, you need to meet basic requirements to qualify for the position:
• At least 18 years old before starting the assignment
• High school diploma
• Proficient in Swedish, both spoken and written
• Valid driver's license (B category)
You must also be free of criminal convictions*, drug-free, have a stable financial situation, and maintain good health and physical fitness to be employed by Avarn Security.
Security guard training is an advantage for these positions. Other advantageous qualifications include protective guard training, security guard training, as well as experience in the security industry, certain technical skills, additional language skills beyond Swedish and English, and previous experience working in public environments.
If you have the right profile for Avarn and proceed in the process but do not already possess the required training (VU1, VU2), we will cover your training! Security guard training (VU1, 9 days) is conducted through BYA, the Occupational and Working Environment Board for the Security Industry. Participation in this training is a prerequisite for employment.
