About this role

Avarn Security has been tasked with providing security services to Stockholm Arlanda Airport, which involves staffing with Airport Controllers, Security Guards, and Protectors. For many years, we have also supplied security services to Malmö Airport (Sturup), Sälen Airport (Scandinavian Mountains Airport), and Oslo Airport Gardermoen. We are now looking for more colleagues to join our team who want to contribute to the security at Arlanda Airport. We offer you an exciting job as an airport controller at one of Sweden's largest workplaces. The work is based at Arlanda Airport where you will be working in the security checks as an airport controller. Your main responsibility as an airport controller is to ensure that no unauthorized individuals pass through the security checkpoint and that all prohibited items are stopped. In this role, it is important to be attentive, stress-resistant, and possess a strong security mindset. We expect you to be a responsible person with a strong focus on your work. The job is physically demanding, and during a workday, you will be standing and walking for most of the day. There is also some heavy lifting involved. As a person, you are cheerful and positive and enjoy working with people. You want to contribute to providing everyone with a professional encounter, from the seasoned business traveler to the family setting off on their first trip. You can combine security and service to create safety for both travelers and colleagues through your strong security awareness. The employment begins with mandatory training for 3 weeks, which includes both theoretical and practical components; Avarn will cover the training costs and you will receive a salary during this period. After completing the training and practical experience with satisfactory results, you will have the opportunity to start working. Working hours vary, and you must be prepared to work very early mornings, with the most common start time being 03:50. You will work shifts according to a fixed schedule, which includes weekdays and weekends. We offer part-time employment, 50% or 70%, starting in early 2026. To be considered for the position, you need to: • Be at least 18 years old • Hold Swedish citizenship • Have no criminal record and be law-abiding • Be able to communicate well in Swedish and English • Have good health and physical condition • Not have payment remarks or unresolved debts • Have completed grades in Swedish and English at the high school level or equivalent education level • Have functioning color vision and hearing For those who are selected for the position, a pleasant workplace awaits you with varied tasks and encounters with all kinds of people—all in an international airport environment. To work at Arlanda, a successful security clearance is required, which means you must be able to verify your employment over the past five years. This should be substantiated with certificates, grades, or equivalent documentation covering the period from November 2020 to now.
