Start: As soon as possible Duration: 12 months with a possibility of extension Location: Skellefteå Our client, a leading manufacturer of specialized industrial machinery and vehicle-based systems, is expanding and looking for a hands-on Automation Engineer to join their engineering organization. Currently, the team consists of 40 highly skilled engineers and is in the process of expanding with additional team members. The ideal candidate thrives in a fast-paced environment, takes ownership, and enjoys working hands-on with commissioning and advanced automation challenges. Responsibilities: • Program PLC and HMI systems • Commission, test, and troubleshoot control systems in industrial and vehicle environments • Develop new automation functions and improve existing product features • Support production and service teams with technical expertise • Collaborate with electrical designers, mechanical engineers, and other specialists in daily development work • Participate in the continuous improvement of automation standards and documentation Qualifications: • 3–5 years of practical experience in automation programming • Experience with industrial machinery or vehicle-based control systems • Ability to work onsite and handle hands-on commissioning tasks • Knowledge of B&R or Siemens automation platforms (preferred) • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work both independently and in a team • Ability to read and understand Swedish technical documentation • Swedish required for day-to-day communication (English-speaking candidates will be considered if they can read and comprehend documents in Swedish)
