About this role

About the Company GKN Aerospace Sweden is part of GKN Aerospace, which manufactures engine components, aircraft structures, cabin windows, wiring, and much more for many of the world's aircraft. The companies in the Aerospace division working on engine parts together form Engines, and at our facility in Trollhättan, we develop and manufacture advanced parts for aircraft and space rocket engines. We also work with engine maintenance. We have production facilities in Trollhättan, Kongsberg (Norway), Mexico, and the USA. We also have an engineering office in Bangalore, India, and offices in Stockholm (Public Affairs) and Gothenburg. The headquarters for Engines is located in Trollhättan. Your Responsibilities The Rig Support department currently consists of nine engineers who together drive and coordinate preventive and corrective maintenance, improvements, and development of our test apparatus and engine facility. Most of the testing is currently done on the RM12 engine for Gripen C/D, both for maintenance and development engines. In parallel, we are working on the introduction of the RM16 engine for Gripen E, with test resources being built up gradually over the coming years. Ahead lie several major infrastructure projects – ranging from new construction replacing older installations to renovations and modifications of existing facilities. As part of our team, you will have varied work where no two days are the same. One moment you might be out in the facility following up on an installation, the next you'll be in the office planning upcoming projects for test apparatus and engine testing. Your areas of responsibility also include: • Planning and preparation of preventive/corrective maintenance as well as procurement of services and spare parts. • Ensuring that assignments follow budget, schedule, and quality requirements. • Documentation according to standards and with high quality. • Active participation in business development of processes and routines. • Responsibility for quality, environment, and work environment in projects. • Development and updating of drawing documentation (NX, AutoCAD) Your Profile Do you recognize yourself in characteristics such as communicative, solution-oriented, and structured? Great! Then you likely have good conditions for success in this role. We want to work with someone who is driven by challenges and has the ability to coordinate and prioritize their work. You value a positive approach and put the team before the individual. We look for someone who does not hesitate in the face of challenges but meets them with curiosity, courage, and decisiveness. Requirements for the Position: • Academic degree at least at bachelor's level in a relevant field or equivalent work experience. • Experience with preventive and corrective maintenance is meritorious. • Very good knowledge of Swedish and English, both spoken and written. • CAD experience is meritorious. The position requires that you undergo and pass current security protection regulations. For positions where GKN's customer has requirements for security classification, this may, where applicable, entail requirements for certain citizenship. Application Process In this recruitment, GKN Aerospace is collaborating with Skill. The position is a consultant assignment where you will initially be employed by Skill with opportunities for transition to GKN. Selection is ongoing and the position may be filled before the application deadline. Apply today! For questions about the position, please contact recruiting manager Linda Algeskog, [email protected]
