About this role
**About the Workplace**
Are you ready for a greater challenge?
The Swedish Police Authority is Sweden's largest agency, with approximately 40,000 employees across the country. Here, you will have the opportunity to contribute to the Police's mission – to increase safety and reduce crime in society.
Police Region North is the largest region in terms of area. The region consists of the four northernmost counties in Sweden and is organized into four police areas: Jämtland, Norrbotten, Västerbotten, and Västernorrland, which are further divided into 12 local police areas. Additionally, there are three regional units: the operational unit, the intelligence unit, and the investigation unit, along with a regional office and national departments represented in the region to support police operations.
The Norrbotten police area is Sweden's largest and northernmost region and is one of the police areas in Region North. The geographical area spans 14 municipalities – from Arvidsjaur in the south to Kiruna in the north. The Norrbotten police area is divided into four local police areas: Luleå/Boden, Northern Lapland, Piteå/Älvdal, and Eastern Norrbotten. At the police area level, there is also an investigation section, an intervention group, and a dog unit, along with a police area office.
The Local Police Area of Lapland is part of the Norrbotten police area. Within the local police area, there are intervention and crime prevention activities, investigation groups, as well as support and service functions.
