About this role
Imagine being part of creating something entirely new - a residence where each day is filled with warmth, care, and quality of life. Now you have the chance! In April 2026, we will open the doors to Saxon’s special accommodation, located in Brickebacken. Here, as a licensed occupational therapist, you will have the opportunity to make a difference every day. We warmly welcome your application!
About the Position
In April 2026, the newly built Saxon’s special accommodation will open its doors. It will be one of Örebro Municipality’s largest residences, where 100–102 residents will move in. There will be ten departments focusing on cognitive impairment and somatic care. Naturally, not all residents will move in at once; this will happen in different phases to create the best possible conditions.
As an occupational therapist with us, you will create essential conditions for our patients to live as independently, actively, and meaningfully as possible. You will do this through rehabilitation, activity assessment, training, and assistive device prescriptions. We work preventively in teams with occupational therapists, nurses, care staff, and unit managers to create good and safe care. It is important to us to base our work on a person-centered and rehabilitative approach, with our patients’ wishes and needs as the focal point.
Here, you will have the chance to contribute to and participate in the establishment of a completely new residence, which we hope you will find both developing and inspiring. You will have the opportunity to influence and shape the operations fundamentally based on your competence and experiences. We are truly looking forward to welcoming you to our new team!
Examples of Responsibilities:
• Assess the need for occupational therapy according to the occupational therapy process
• Plan, implement, and follow up on rehabilitation measures
• Educate, inform, and supervise other professionals as well as students
• Drive the work with individual and group activities
• Maintain contact and provide support to relatives and close ones
• Collaborate with other professionals to create individual care plans
• Document in various quality registers and operational systems
About the Workplace
Saxon’s special accommodation is currently under construction and is located in a picturesque environment between Tallrisvägen and Saxon’s Park in Brickebacken. Around the building, there will be a large garden with the goal of creating a pleasant and functional outdoor environment for both residents and staff. Additionally, several services will be available; day care for the elderly, group homes, a restaurant, and facilities for home care and home nursing. According to plan, the residence will gradually open starting in April 2026.
As an occupational therapist at Saxon’s special accommodation, you will be part of the Health and Medical Care Organization (HS). All nurses and occupational therapists within the municipality’s special accommodations work within the same organization to create better conditions, equitable care, and to safeguard Örebro Municipality’s health care resources. For you as an occupational therapist, this also means that you have a manager who is fundamentally licensed and thus well-informed about the challenges you face in your work.
Here you have the opportunity to develop, be challenged, and gain broad and deep experience while improving the daily life of a fellow human being. Read more about what it is like to work within Örebro Municipality and care services at orebro.se/jobb/socialtarbete!

Since you will be involved in the establishment of a new residence, you need to easily adapt to changing circumstances and see opportunities and solutions in the challenges you face.
