About this role
Occupational Therapy Specialist Care Gästrikland provides occupational therapy interventions for inpatients at Gävle Hospital, referred from other hospitals in the region, as well as for specific patients from primary care and other specialized care across the country. Our focus is on person-centered care, evidence-based rehabilitation, uninterrupted care pathways, and good accessibility. This is carried out within the framework of available resources, priorities, and equity across the region.
We are a dynamic team of 26 occupational therapists and four rehabilitation assistants working together to facilitate and improve the daily lives of our patients. We collaborate with all hospital wards and several clinics, including hand therapy, lymphedema therapy, and pediatric care, and we take pride in our high standards and focus on patient well-being. **JOB DESCRIPTION**
Depending on your experience and skills, you will play a key role in outpatient care, inpatient care, or both. We support each other in our daily work, and you will receive excellent guidance from experienced colleagues as well as good opportunities for professional development. As a newcomer to the profession or with less experience, there is the opportunity to initially explore different areas to broaden your knowledge.
As an occupational therapist with us, you will work with:
- Assessment, treatment, and training of activity ability and function
- Evaluation and prescription of assistive devices
- Education and advice to healthcare staff
- Collaboration with the various units/departments we partner with.

**QUALIFICATIONS**

In the role of occupational therapist, you must:
- Be a licensed occupational therapist.
For these positions, it is advantageous if you have experience working in inpatient care, preferably with a focus on stroke rehabilitation, but this is not a requirement. As a recent graduate or with less experience, there is a wealth of collective expertise within the unit to learn from.
