About the Workplace
The Forensic Psychiatry in Sala is a workplace where employees are important co-creators in the development of the future of forensic psychiatry. We provide highly specialized psychiatric care for individuals who have been committed by the court due to severe mental disorders. The facility currently consists of four inpatient wards and two outpatient clinics, one of which is located in Västerås and is a collaboration with forensic psychiatry, addiction centers, and correctional services. Once the fifth ward is in place, Forensic Psychiatry in Västmanland will be able to provide security classifications 1, 2, and 3, as well as outpatient care.
Forensic psychiatric care has two main missions: care and community protection. This means achieving the best possible mental health for the patient while preventing recidivism of serious crimes. A professional approach and a humanistic value base are the cornerstones of the forensic psychiatric care process, which is tailored to each patient's individual circumstances. We work person-centered, where patient safety and a good working environment go hand in hand.
The clinic is located in Sala, a vibrant, idyllic small town with nature at your doorstep. Commuting options are good from several nearby cities. From Västerås, it takes just over 30 minutes by car or public transport. From Uppsala, it takes about an hour by car and 40 minutes by train.
