About this role

Are you interested in and curious about forensic psychiatric care? Do you want to work on an important and challenging societal mission in a highly specialized environment? We warmly welcome your application! **Job Responsibilities** In the forensic psychiatric setting, you will work as an occupational therapist conducting activity and function assessments. This involves using various assessment tools to map out patients' past and present life situations. Through conversations and observations, you will also identify patients' strengths and weaknesses to determine what they may need to improve. The assessment will serve as a basis for what the patient may need to focus on during their treatment and will provide the municipality with information to make decisions regarding the support needs of the patient prior to their transition back to society. Examples of the assessment tools used include PRPP, VCPA, and KaTid. Your responsibilities will also focus on developing the service in collaboration with staff at the Educational Center. Currently, the service at the Educational Center is focused on recreational activities—allowing patients to leave the ward and engage in enjoyable activities. The future aim is for the service to become a place for assessing and training various motor and social skills as well as cognitive functions. **About the Workplace** In the forensic psychiatric inpatient care, you will join a highly specialized care environment where you, as a nurse, play an important role. We work in teams with the patient at the center of our focus. Our team consists of nurses, caregivers, psychologists, therapists, and doctors. Approximately 160 employees work within the facility, which includes four inpatient wards with 55 care places. Soon, an additional ward will open to care for patients classified as security level 3. Security level 3 is the lowest security classification, indicating that patients are assessed to have a low risk of violence or escape. The care environment is more open, meaning fewer restrictions, but still under supervision and with clear rules. Patients have access to their own mobile phones and computers, with a focus on rehabilitation and preparation for reintegration into society. After inpatient care, treatment often transitions to forensic psychiatric outpatient care with specific conditions, and an outpatient team is available at the clinic. Our patient group consists of residents of Västmanland and patients from outside the region. The forensic psychiatric care is located in Sala. **Forensic Psychiatric Regional Clinic Västmanland - Region Västmanland** It is important to us that you feel well and enjoy your job; therefore, we offer you: - A tailored introduction program to help you feel secure and confident in your professional role - Opportunities for professional development through internal training, for example - A workplace accommodating various life stages, with the possibility of flexible working hours within certain frameworks - Free access to our fully equipped gym - Wellness allowance of 3000 SEK/year More about your benefits can be found here: https://regionvastmanland.se/jobba-med-oss/dina-formaner/ **Qualifications** We are looking for a licensed occupational therapist.
