About this role

Make a Difference. Every Day. We are entering an exciting period where we are thinking innovatively and developing our operations. As we aim to grow and meet healthcare needs, we are expanding our teams with an additional occupational therapist. Do you have a naturally empathetic approach and genuine commitment to patient well-being? Do you thrive in a work environment that values collaboration, participation, and a positive climate? Then you might be our new colleague! Here, you'll have the opportunity to work with patients at the center of their home environment and be part of a competent, warm, and cohesive team. Together, we create security, relief, and quality of life during one of life's most vulnerable phases. The organization is part of Close Care and Health, Mobile Teams and Specialized Palliative Care, southwestern Skåne. ASIH offers specialized palliative care and advanced home healthcare for patients of all ages in the Malmö city catchment area. Care is provided in patients' own homes or at special care facilities. ASIH works with holistic, patient-centered care, which is essential for providing dignified end-of-life care. ASIH provides specialized care but collaborates with home healthcare and home services for basic care when needed. There is close cooperation between ASIH and the Palliative Care Ward. Our joint rehabilitation staff currently consists of two occupational therapists, three physiotherapists, and three counselors. We are seeking someone interested in a primary placement at ASIH in Malmö, where you will primarily work in one of our teams with registered home patients. As an occupational therapist, you will also be part of a well-functioning Skåne-wide network for Palliative Care and ASIH in Skåne, with regular meetings, both in-person and digital. JOB RESPONSIBILITIES The main goal of palliative care is to alleviate and support when the illness is incurable. Palliative care aims to relieve physical pain and offer psychological, social, and existential support to patients and their families. The care's purpose is to help patients achieve the best possible quality of life at the end of life, without hastening or delaying death. Working in Palliative Care and ASIH in Malmö means working patient-centered and contributing to creating security in difficult life situations for all our registered patients. You will meet patients, listen, and work based on existing conditions with the patient's goals in focus. The occupational therapist's tasks include assessing functional and activity capabilities, with a primary focus on enabling and facilitating activities that create meaning and enhance patients' quality of life. Collaboration on assistive device needs occurs with the municipality's prescribers. QUALIFICATIONS You applying are a licensed occupational therapist authorized to practice in Swedish healthcare and have a valid driver's license (B-license). Swedish language skills at least equivalent to level C1 according to the Council of Europe's scale are required. Experience working with seriously ill patients is meritorious. As both our journal system and planning tool are digital, it's important that you are comfortable using a computer. Additionally, training in areas such as Soft Massage, Mediyoga, or Basic Body Awareness is merit-worthy. We believe the ideal candidate has a genuine interest in palliative care, a good ability to focus on patient needs, and prioritize tasks. You find it stimulating to work towards optimizing patient and family quality of life. As part of the work involves support and conversations, you must be perceptive and have a good ability to build care relationships. You are confident in your professional role, engaged, and contribute to a positive work climate. Furthermore, you enjoy working in a large workplace with many colleagues. You appreciate teamwork while being comfortable working independently. Great importance will be placed on personal suitability, with fundamental requirements including good social skills, communication abilities, and collaborative capacity. We apply rolling selection, so we warmly welcome your application today!
