Are you interested in working with intensive interventions for children and adolescents with complex psychiatric issues? We are now expanding our staff in line with our increased mission.
The BUP Intensive Outpatient Care Section receives children and young people, ages X-17, with complex child psychiatric symptomatology that significantly impacts their level of functioning, often requiring intensive treatment and extensive collaboration. This includes our Intermediate Care Units, Day Care, Trauma Unit, and DBT team, along with the Unit for Psychosis and Bipolar Disorder, working integratively to tailor specialized treatment plans.
The unit's mission is to quickly assess and treat children and young people with symptoms within the psychosis and bipolar spectrum, a mission that is now being expanded to consolidate and develop care for patients with treatment-resistant depression.
The unit's working methods are based on FACT (Flexible Assertive Community Treatment) and are characterized by high medical competence, accessibility, flexibility, and person-centered care.
**Job Responsibilities**
You will be part of the patient's interdisciplinary FACT team and responsible for occupational therapy assessments and treatment interventions for the patient and their relatives. As an occupational therapist with us, you play a central role in mapping and assessing the activity and functional abilities of adolescents. You will work on designing individually tailored interventions that promote participation, independence, and structure in daily life, providing support around routines, activity balance, sleep, and energy management. The role also includes conducting functional assessments, prescribing assistive devices, and offering cognitive support and strategies. Work is conducted both individually and in groups, closely involving the adolescent's network, guardians, and other stakeholders. You will also contribute your occupational therapy expertise to the team and have a consultative role.
**Qualifications**
A licensed occupational therapist is a requirement.
Previous experience in psychiatric care and experience in child and adolescent psychiatry is advantageous.

**About Us**
The BUP Stockholm unit for young people with psychosis and bipolar disorder is part of BUP Stockholm. The Child and Adolescent Psychiatry in Stockholm (BUP) offers specialized psychiatric care for children and adolescents under 18 years old within the Stockholm County. We are part of the Stockholm County Healthcare Area, which is a healthcare provider within the Stockholm Region. Together, we at BUP have over 1,200 employees who meet more than 22,000 children, adolescents, and their families each year. The position is subject to the condition that it is not needed for internal reassignment, according to applicable regulations.
For patient-facing work within the Stockholm County Healthcare Area:
- A background check will be conducted before hiring according to SLSO's overarching guidelines for background checks during employment.
- Employees who will have patient contact must undergo a pre-employment health examination, according to current directives, which is conducted through occupational health services before employment.
- In addition to Swedish professional licensure, good knowledge of the Swedish language at level C1 according to the Common European Framework of Reference (CEFR) is required. The same requirements apply to non-licensed staff with patient contact.
