Your Mission
Welcome to one of Sweden's most exciting workplaces. Would you like to be part of the neurological team at Uppsala University Hospital? We are looking for a new colleague who is interested in working with what is most important to a person – the brain. This is an exciting role that allows you to contribute your specific professional expertise.
Your primary workplace will be in neurology, but also in the inpatient care of neurosurgery. The foundation of our working method is multidisciplinary teams based on a holistic view of the patient. The current position includes work in the NPH team, but also opportunities to assist in the MNS and Huntington teams may arise. Your responsibilities will involve assessment and investigation of neurological diseases/conditions as well as assistive device evaluations. You will assess P-ADL, hand function, and cognition, and you will also play a crucial role in the discharge process. As an occupational therapist at Uppsala University Hospital, you will be part of a larger network of occupational therapists who collectively take responsibility for meeting patients referred from other parts of the hospital. Placement in another department on a part-time basis may be relevant if the need arises.
As an occupational therapist with us, you will work on complex and challenging issues where your work makes a difference. Depending on your previous experiences, we will create an introduction plan for you as a new employee. We also offer continuous professional development to help you grow in your role as an occupational therapist. We believe it is important to have fun at work and that everyone contributes to a pleasant workplace. We provide you with a stimulating job alongside competent and enjoyable colleagues. You will also be part of a skilled team that supports and helps each other while you will work independently. As an occupational therapist in the operational area of Geriatrics, Rehabilitation Medicine, and Pain Center, you will be part of a group of several occupational therapists, allowing for exchange of ideas.
Your Qualifications
We are looking for a licensed occupational therapist. Clinical experience in neurology/neurosurgery, knowledge of cognition, and experience in teamwork are considered advantageous. We also welcome recent graduates who wish to develop in this field. In our recruitment process, we will place great emphasis on personal suitability.
Your Skills
The work involves close contact with patients and staff, which requires good interpersonal skills, flexibility, well-developed collaboration abilities, and organizational skills. We would like you to have the ability to prioritize and create structure among your various tasks.
We Offer
We offer a fixed-term employment. The position is full-time. Start date according to agreement, preferably as soon as possible. End date 260828. The position may be terminated earlier if the regular occupational therapist returns sooner than planned.
