About this role
Habilitation & Health offers specialized care and support for individuals with long-term functional disabilities, such as impaired ability to communicate, see, hear, or move. The goal is to maintain and develop functional capacity, create conditions for good health, and enable active participation in society. Do you want to make a difference for people with disabilities? Welcome to Habilitation & Health, part of the Västra Götaland Region. Together, we have the power to create change.
Habilitation is specialized healthcare for children and youth with autism, intellectual disabilities, mobility impairments, or acquired brain injuries. We provide health-promoting and treatment interventions based on each individual's unique needs and conditions, with specialized knowledge of how disabilities can impact daily life, health, and development.
Description
Do you want to contribute to helping children who have had a different start in life reach their full potential? Would you like the opportunity to use the full range of occupational therapy techniques and contribute important pieces to team collaboration? Then we hope you'll apply to Habilitation!
Welcome to submit your application!
Job Responsibilities
Your tasks include mapping activity ability and activity level, as well as treating and teaching strategies to facilitate daily life.
You will assess, prescribe, and follow up on individually adapted assistive devices. Providing information, guidance, and consultation to patients, relatives, and staff, as well as collaborating with other healthcare providers and authorities, is also part of your responsibilities.
Work takes place in habilitation facilities and, as needed, in the patient's immediate environment. All interventions are planned together with the patient and occur both in group and individual settings.
You will be offered an introductory period and excellent opportunities for collegial supervision by a designated mentor and regular professional meetings.
Qualifications
You must be a licensed occupational therapist. Experience working with children and youth with disabilities is meritorious. In your role as an occupational therapist, you will work with both individual and group interventions, including BIG - Group Treatment. BIG is the foundation of habilitation work, where you are expected to lead groups both digitally and in-person. Experience leading groups is therefore advantageous.
Collaboration skills, flexibility, and good interpersonal communication are essential for us, so significant emphasis is placed on personal suitability.
The position involves travel, so a B driver's license is required.
