**About the Role**
Do you want to be an important part of the energy transition? Vattenfall Services is Sweden's leading contracting company in the energy and power sector, developing Sweden's energy infrastructure! Here, you will work in a future-oriented industry with a strong focus on a sustainable future. We need more energy heroes, and we are now looking for a Safety Engineer who wants to join us on the journey toward a fossil-free life! Are you the one? Together, we make a difference for society as a whole.
As a Safety Engineer, you will belong to the Consulting Services business area and the Internal Technical Consultants department, which includes operational HSSEQ specialists, project managers, interim managers, and specialists. Within the department, we have a broad range of expertise and various experience levels. We work both within Vattenfall Services and with our clients on consulting assignments.
As a Safety Engineer with us, you will be responsible for supporting managers and project leaders with HSSEQ matters. In this role, you will play a crucial part in one of our larger service agreements. You will work closely with local operations – both in offices and in the field – to develop and follow up on the systematic workplace and environmental efforts. Your work will be in close collaboration with department heads, project managers, and technicians.
Your main responsibilities will include, among others:
• Driving, planning, and following up on HSSEQ work.
• Conducting field visits and participating in safety and environmental rounds.
• Supporting the development of environmental and workplace plans, risk management, and deviation handling, as well as following up on documentation.
• Assisting in maintaining routines and working methods to ensure compliance with workplace safety laws and environmental requirements.
• Following up on audits and subcontractors.
You will be part of a team of safety engineers but will be supervised in your assignment by our HSSEQ specialist in our contractual organization.
**Requirements Specification**
We are looking for someone who has a strong commitment to HSSEQ issues from a business and operational perspective. You have a pedagogical approach to work and are driven by continuous improvement. It is important that you are a person who values collaboration and finds it easy to build relationships, as you will have many points of contact in this role. Since you are expected to work independently, you must also be structured with a good ability to plan.
We know that you will develop with us. However, we appreciate if you already have:
• Experience in systematic workplace and environmental work, preferably within the construction and civil engineering industry, energy sector, or manufacturing industry.
• Good knowledge of the Work Environment Act, AFS regulations, the Environmental Code, guidelines from the Swedish Environmental Protection Agency, and EU legislation on the environment and sustainability.
• Education in BAS-P and BAS-U.
• Experience in auditing within HSSEQ is an advantage.
• Excellent communication skills in both Swedish and English, in both speech and writing.
