About this role

Stockholm – our capital city with millions of dreams, expectations, and ambitions. We work for everyone living here today and in the future. We are now looking for someone who wants to think big, new, and differently with us – for the people of Stockholm. The Skarpnäck District Administration offers you a workplace where active employee participation and clear leadership are the foundation for providing the best services to Stockholmers. Since we collectively create our work environment, openness, respect, and responsiveness are essential. Are you a creative person driven by getting things done, using your knowledge to find smart solutions, and coaching others? Do you thrive in a daily routine filled with many contacts and close collaborations? Do you want to help shape something new while creating safe and well-maintained outdoor environments that mean a lot to people? Then you are the right person for us. We are embarking on an exciting journey of change as we take over the responsibility for park and nature management in-house starting in autumn 2026. Here, you will have the chance to be involved from the beginning and build a completely new operation that works with climate awareness and circularity while contributing to the city's efforts in biodiversity. We are investing in electric machines and vehicles, smart transportation, and have a strong focus on sustainability and nature conservation. Welcome to us Skarpnäck is a district full of green values! Here, there are 880 hectares of park and nature areas, with around 40 playgrounds and parks. You will be part of the unit for urban environment and urban development, which currently consists of two park engineers and is led by a unit manager – and is now growing in an exciting direction! With the takeover of park and nature management, we are broadening our expertise in community planning, park operations, environment, and climate. Our goal is to continue working towards a district where residents feel involved, a sense of community, and pride, and where parks and natural areas are green, beautiful, and sustainable for everyone living, working, or visiting Skarpnäck. Our park operations are based in newly renovated, modern facilities in Högdalen – an energetic work environment where we share space with other district administrations in the southern park operations team. Here, it is easy to collaborate, exchange ideas, and solve challenges together. As a team leader, you and the rest of the park operations team will also be part of a larger context together with colleagues from the district administration in Björkhagen, where you meet for discussions, planning, and inspiration. Your role As a team leader, you will play a key role in building our new park operations. You will be involved from the start – planning, recruiting, designing facilities, and creating routines – and then be responsible for leading and driving the daily work of the team. You will report directly to the unit manager and have the opportunity to shape the operation, influence the outdoor environments in Skarpnäck, and make a difference for those who live and work here. Your responsibilities •    Initiate park operations: prepare facilities, plan purchases of machines and vehicles, create routines and structure. •    Lead, distribute, and follow up on the team's daily work. •    Work practically in park operations – mowing, brush clearing, planting, maintenance, etc. •    Participate in safety initiatives in the district, creating pleasant and safe environments for all. •    Be the face of the administration to the citizens: receive feedback, report issues, and requests, provide good service, and increase trust in the administration. •    Gather knowledge about the citizens and outdoor environments in Skarpnäck to continuously improve park operations. •    Build and maintain contacts with colleagues within the district administration and other functions to drive development forward. •    Identify improvement opportunities and contribute to the long-term development of outdoor environments together with park engineers and colleagues. Your qualifications and experience We are looking for someone who wants to help shape the parks and natural areas of Skarpnäck – where your ideas, solutions, and practical efforts make a difference in people's daily lives. Here, you will combine creative thinking with practical work, drive sustainable and climate-conscious park operations, and collaborate with colleagues to create outdoor environments that function well and are appreciated by residents and visitors. The position involves a lot of outdoor work year-round. Perfect for you who enjoy being outside and like to see tangible results from your efforts. We are looking for someone who has •    Education in park management or other education that the employer deems equivalent and suitable for the position. •    Current experience in park and green space maintenance, where you have worked with park machinery. •    Documented and current experience in leadership. •    Good plant knowledge. •    Good communication skills in Swedish, both spoken and written. •    Good computer skills and digital competence, with experience
