About this role

Do you see the opportunities in every tree, bush, and green space? Do you have the knowledge and willingness to lead others in creating sustainable and pleasant environments? Then this could be your next challenge. YOUR ROLE As a team leader in Parks and Nature, you will be the hub of daily operations, planning, distributing, and following up on work in our green environments. You will plan based on the changing seasons and ensure that the operations are well-prepared for the upcoming seasons. Part of the planning will be done together with the other two team leaders, where you will contribute your green expertise and plant knowledge. Together, you will be responsible for ensuring that the municipality's parks, plantings, and trees are maintained and managed in the best possible way – so that Skellefteå's green environments continue to be pleasant, sustainable, and well-kept year-round. In short, you will have a varied and important role where you are both close to the operations in the field and maintain the overall coherence. YOUR COMPETENCE AND EXPERIENCE We are looking for someone with an education as a landscape engineer, gardener, or equivalent work experience. You have good and up-to-date knowledge in plant and tree care, and have kept your skills alive through recent practical work. You know which plants thrive where, how they should be planted and cared for, and how to prevent diseases or pests. You keep up with developments in the field and have the ability to apply your knowledge in practice, whether it involves establishing new plantings, preserving existing environments, or assessing the health and vitality of plants. Experience in leadership is an advantage. In this role, you need to be able to coach and motivate your team members in their daily tasks and build trust through a trust-based leadership style. At the same time, you are structured enough to keep the planning organized, stable when the pace is high, and solution-oriented when challenges arise. You express yourself well in Swedish, can hold simple conversations in English, and have sufficient physical capabilities to participate in work as needed. Additionally, you have good digital skills and enjoy using various systems in your work. A driver's license for manual transmission is a requirement for the position. YOUR NEW WORKPLACE You will be part of the Parks and Nature department, located on Brogatan in central Skellefteå. Here, we work to care for and develop the green environments in Skellefteå municipality – from parks and trees to plantings and green areas. We are in the midst of an expansive community transformation where green spaces play an important role in well-being, health, and sustainable development. With us, you will meet an experienced team where many have worked for a long time and truly enjoy their work. We have a work environment based on freedom with responsibility, where you can influence both your own daily life and the development of the operations. Our working hours are 07:00–16:00, Monday to Friday – no evenings or weekends. Additionally, we offer flexible working options, good benefits, and a secure employer who wants you to maintain a balance between work and leisure. GOOD TO KNOW We recruit based on competence and focus on your experience, knowledge, and potential. Instead of a personal letter, you will answer a few selection questions and attach an updated CV.
