Lead Priest for Carlskyrkan

About the Job The Church of Sweden in Umeå has a long tradition of close collaboration with EFS, and Carlskyrkan is one of Umeå's three partner churches. There is a strong commitment to being a church in the Carls areas, with many volunteers and elected representatives contributing to the activities in various ways. The past few years have presented some challenges for the work team, and a review of workplace responsibilities and the various roles will continue over the coming year, aiming to further ensure good cooperation, as well as a safe and stimulating work environment. Responsibilities You will, together with the board of Carlskyrkan, be responsible for the services held at Carlskyrkan and will act as the team leader for the EFS-employed staff. This means you will need to maintain close contact with the office of EFS in Västerbotten. Along with the work team, the board of the EFS association, and the volunteers, you will be responsible for the activities at Carlskyrkan. A portion of your role will also involve participating in activities organized by EFS Västerbotten. You will be part of the work team in Ålidhems parish and, as a priest, share responsibility for church services, confirmation classes, camps, and the worship life in the parish. You will report directly to the parish vicar and will also be part of her management team. About You You are an ordained priest in accordance with the Church of Sweden's order and have several years of experience as a manager/team leader with personnel responsibility. Experience with EFS and leading and collaborating with volunteers is an advantage, as well as knowledge of leadership and workplace environment issues. We also believe that your personal qualities are crucial for your enjoyment in this role, and therefore we think you are skilled in interacting with others and thrive both in independent work and in tasks where you collaborate with a team. You have the ability to interpret and convey the gospel in contemporary language. You possess an inclusive approach and have the ability and willingness to encourage people so that their gifts can be utilized within the parish. Conditions The position is permanent at 100%.
