Welcome to the Department of Care and Support. We work with support and care for the elderly and individuals with disabilities. Our goal is to enable them to live as active and independent lives as possible. The Department of Care and Support is one of Sweden's largest employers in municipal care and support. Here, approximately 7,500 employees work based on our core values – making a difference, working together, and welcoming innovation. With us, there are great opportunities to take responsibility, develop, and contribute your expertise. We strive for an organizational culture built on trust and pride in our operations. For more information about what it is like to work in Uppsala Municipality, please visit https://www.uppsala.se/jobb/vard-halsa-omsorg/ In the Department of Care and Support, full-time work is the norm. This means that all permanent employees fundamentally have a full-time position. Further information about what this entails for this position will be provided during a potential interview. Personal assistants are exempt from the full-time norm. Do you want to help create a meaningful everyday life for individuals with disabilities? At Nature and Service, we offer daily activities where participants have the opportunity for employment, community, and development. We work with individualized support, alternative communication, and respectful interaction to ensure that each person feels included and secure. We are now looking for someone who, with commitment and attentiveness, wants to contribute to making every day a good day for our participants! Nature and Service provides daily activities for approximately 200 participants, distributed across about 25 different operations. The purpose is to provide our users with meaningful employment and the opportunity to change their environment. Some operations involve simpler tasks. Participants may have extensive support needs and sometimes exhibit challenging behaviors. Communication occurs in various ways, and we use alternative communication methods such as visual aids, sign language, and body language to foster understanding and participation. We currently need to strengthen our team with three temporary work supervisors. One of the temporary positions is for one year, and two are for three months. Job Description As a work supervisor, your task is to provide individual support and service according to the Act on Support and Service (LSS) to the participants of the operation based on their assistance decisions. You will work with individuals who have physical and/or mental disabilities and are responsible for ensuring that the interventions maintain high quality and meet the established goals according to the order and implementation plan. Your role includes: • Working with a low-arousal approach and promoting participants' independence and involvement in their activities. • Conducting activities with participants both individually and in groups. • Providing support during meals and toilet visits as needed. • Collaborating with other staff. • Driving cars and minibuses with participants as needed. • Documenting according to legal requirements in Lifecare. Qualifications We are looking for someone who is a trained nursing assistant or has completed a child and leisure program or another education deemed equivalent by the employer. A prerequisite for the job is that you have experience working with individuals with disabilities and in LSS services. You must have a good command of Swedish, both spoken and written, and possess good computer and documentation skills. We prefer candidates with pedagogical competence or training in communication, such as AAC (Alternative and Augmentative Communication), as well as experience and good knowledge of low-arousal approaches. A driving license for manual transmission is required, as transporting participants is part of the job both to and from the operation and during activities. As a person, you have a good understanding of different ways to absorb knowledge and adapt your message to your audience. You collaborate well with others, are attentive, and communicate constructively. Additionally, you are flexible and quickly adapt to changes, see opportunities, and find solutions. If you are not a citizen of Sweden, the EU, EEA, or Switzerland, you must also be able to prove that you have a valid work permit or are exempt from the requirement to have a work permit. Employment can only occur after verification of the work permit, as required by the Aliens Ordinance. Employment with Uppsala Municipality may involve a military placement.
