What does a technician do at Eltel?
We have various roles as technicians at Eltel (fiber technician, service technician, and railway technician). Currently, we are looking for a railway technician who will work on resolving both large and small issues in the communication system. The role primarily involves working with clients in the railway sector. You will receive work orders from the team’s production planner or project manager.
In your role, you will be involved in both emergency troubleshooting and planned renovations in the rail area. We run a 24/7 service for our clients, where it is crucial that we perform quickly, safely, and professionally.
In your role, you will:
- Maintain critical infrastructure both independently and within a team
- Troubleshoot and repair
- Service and replace copper and fiber cables
- Be on call every fifth week (on-call duty)
- Provide high service to clients
As a technician, you will have many different contacts, including with our production planner who allocates and distributes work among available technicians and with clients when needed. Sometimes you will need to ensure that you acquire what is necessary to solve the client's problem, so communication is key.
You will report your hours daily via phone or computer and keep ongoing reports during and after completed work. Naturally, you will maintain close communication with our production planner and our clients to keep them updated on the progress of the work.
As a technician with us at Eltel, on-call duty may also be applicable, which is every 4-5 weeks and provides a salary enhancement.
To succeed in this role, you need to:
- Have a completed upper secondary education
- Have a genuine interest in technology, preferably within railways
- Master Swedish in both spoken and written form
- Have a B driving license for manual transmission
- Have a flexible approach to work as your workday may need to be reprioritized
