Jämtlands Gymnasieförbund
Jämtland Gymnasium Federation is responsible for upper secondary school, adapted upper secondary school, and parts of adult education in our member municipalities. The federation's eight schools are located in natural and mountain-adjacent environments spread across six municipalities – Berg, Bräcke, Krokom, Ragunda, Åre, and Östersund.
Welcome to apply for a position with us – Together we create the best learning experience!
As an admissions officer, you will handle the entire admissions process for the county's upper secondary schools – both public and independent.
You are responsible for ensuring that applications are processed legally, efficiently, and with good service for students, guardians, and schools.
You will receive comprehensive onboarding from our current admissions officer, who is retiring this year. During a transition period, she will remain available to support you in achieving the best possible start.
This is a permanent full-time position starting on May 1, 2026.
To thrive and succeed as an admissions officer, you need to be a structured individual who takes responsibility and enjoys working independently. You plan your work based on the admissions process's annual timeline and have the ability to maintain both a holistic and detail-oriented focus – key qualities in a role where you are the sole expert in this area within the county.
You communicate clearly, express yourself well in both speech and writing, and find it easy to engage with various target groups in a professional and accessible manner. It is advantageous if you have post-secondary education with an administrative focus – for example, as a study and career counselor – but we place great emphasis on personal suitability.
You have a service-oriented and solution-focused attitude and thrive with varied tasks where you can alternate between planning, implementation, and communication – sometimes even with difficult messages and conversations.
The upper secondary admissions follow a distinct annual timeline with intense periods, especially during February–March and May–September. For the work to function well, you need to be able to plan your efforts around these peaks – with relatively calmer periods in between.
An important prerequisite for the position is that your summer vacation is scheduled in July, with a maximum of four weeks of leave. This is because admissions reach their most critical phase during the summer, requiring your expertise on-site.
You will be based in central Östersund alongside other specialists in upper secondary education in the county. We can provide you with a pleasant work environment at an office with fourteen employees where we support each other. You will have access to various employee benefits such as wellness grants, pension advice, and the option for remote work.
