JOB RESPONSIBILITIES The Property Department's mission is to manage Varberg Municipality's properties to maintain their capital value both short and long-term, and to ensure that municipal departments can conduct their operations in suitable premises. The Property Department strives for customer satisfaction, which should be evident in everything the department performs. Customer focus is key! The Property Department is now seeking a Property Technician. Job Tasks Your main tasks will involve maintenance and care of municipal properties, such as schools, preschools, swimming and ice facilities, and elderly care homes. We work with order-driven operations. Common work tasks include: • Interior and exterior maintenance and repair of properties • Inspection and maintenance of locks, doors, windows, and woodwork • Inspection and replacement of light sources, interior and exterior • Addressing drainage blockages, leaking faucets, etc. • Appliance repair and replacement • Preventive maintenance • High-altitude/lift work The position also includes tasks such as: • Corrective and preventive operational and maintenance work, and developing improvement and action proposals • Assisting property managers in maintenance planning and ongoing contact with contractors and customers, and monitoring contractors' work • On-call duty may be part of the position Great emphasis will be placed on personal suitability. Meriting qualifications include: • Training in roof work, fall protection • Experience working in order-driven operations • Lift truck certification • Boiler operator training • Facility maintenance certification Position requires Class B driver's license Interviews will be conducted continuously during the recruitment process QUALIFICATIONS As a person, you are service-oriented, unpretentious, analytical, and methodical. You need to be able to take initiative, have decision-making ability, be curious and open, while simultaneously being able to discuss issues openly within the group where experience and competence exist. You should be able to take responsibility, work independently and solution-focused, and have an easy time collaborating. You feel strong commitment to your work, have confidence in your professional skills, and are open to new ideas and approaches. Since the work involves significant contact with other municipal operations and contractors, you must be able to communicate in a trustworthy manner, have good social skills, and maintain a positive basic attitude. Very good Swedish language skills are required, both spoken and written. You need to feel great responsibility for your tasks and be cost and quality-conscious.
