Role and Responsibilities
We at ABB Electrification are now seeking a dedicated Bid Engineer for a key role in our organization to grow our business in relay protection applications! In this role, you will work with the sales organization and our customers, where you will be responsible for determining the most technically suitable and cost-effective solutions for the modernization and maintenance of relay protection products and systems. You will be responsible for developing technical solutions from tender documents to completed proposals in bids to our customers for the modernization of relay protection and systems. Together with project managers and designers, you will package and support project delivery to ensure it meets agreed business terms, customer needs, applicable standards, and enables efficient execution.
We are looking for someone with experience in the electrical power industry and specifically in relay protection applications, who enjoys problem-solving, is responsible, and values structure and quality in deliveries. Experience in electrical design or practical work with switchgear and relay protection products, such as a service technician or commissioning engineer, is an advantage. The position is preferably located in Västerås, but other locations will be considered.
Responsibilities:
• You will take responsibility as a technically knowledgeable person in your product area and support our service engineers as well as our customers with complex questions related to relay protection applications.
• You will act as a spokesperson towards factories regarding local development and adaptation of the service offering for low-voltage applications.
• You will create conditions to grow our volume and profitability by participating in product presentations and supporting the development of marketing materials, product training, and price lists.
• You will work independently but be part of a skilled team and have extensive contact with salespeople, customers, project managers, designers, and suppliers. You are engaged, meticulous, and enjoy working towards set goals and deadlines.
Your Background
• You have strong technical knowledge in electrical power, acquired through extensive experience in similar roles or practical experience as a service technician. A bachelor's degree in electrical engineering is advantageous.
• You have a good technical understanding of the structure of electrical systems and their products within medium voltage and relay protection.
• You have knowledge of principles and practices in Electrical Safety.
• You are service-oriented, collaborative, structured, and meticulous. You are an innovative person with a strong drive to arrive at quality solutions.
• You are relationship-building and have the ability to communicate clearly, both internally and to external parties.
• Fluent in Swedish and English, both spoken and written.
• Since travel is part of the job, it is required that you hold a valid driver's license (B category).
• It is advantageous if you have knowledge and experience in design using AutoCad, ElProCad, and/or elMaster, as well as previous experience with configuration, 61850 protocol, testing & commissioning, and troubleshooting.
