Your Workplace

The ambulance service in Värmland operates across the county, with ambulances stationed in twelve locations. We are a suitably sized and cohesive healthcare organization with short decision-making paths that allow you to see the big picture and have an impact.

In preparation for the summer of 2026, we are seeking new employees for the ambulance station in Karlstad. Summer positions may lead to permanent employment.

Job Description

The ambulance service faces challenges in the acute care of the sick and injured in many different environments. By assessing, referring, caring for, and transporting patients, we ensure that they receive proper care at the appropriate level. Our goal is always to provide a safe experience for patients, keeping them informed of the next steps in their care process.

Shifts will be scheduled both day and night.

Healthcare services are based on our patients' needs and our employees' competencies. We aim to advance healthcare together with our staff. We strive for a good working environment with stimulating tasks and individually tailored onboarding. All new hires undergo a 7-week introductory and position training program.

Qualifications

We are looking for you who are a paramedic nurse or a licensed nurse with at least 1 year of clinical experience. As a person, you are responsible and flexible with excellent teamwork skills. A driver's license (B-category) is required, along with at least 3 years of driving experience. C1/C-category driver's license is a merit.

Before potential employment, you will need to complete work tests and pass a health check administered by the region. Region Värmland is committed to a drug-free workplace and employs mandatory drug testing for new hires.

On Tuesday, December 9, a full day will be held in Karlstad for interviews and work tests. If you are shortlisted for the position, you will be invited to this day in a separate email. For this day, it is preferred that you bring proof of your ability to swim 200 meters.
