About this role

Make a difference. Every day. Are you looking for your next challenge where you can develop both professionally and personally? Then do not hesitate to apply to us! The Ambulance Operations Area (VO) is responsible for ambulance services in northwestern and southwestern Skåne, with ambulance stations in ten locations. The ambulance care in Region Skåne has evolved into a regionally equal operation with collaboration across previous county borders, seamless dispatching, shared treatment guidelines, and joint professional development. The operations area comprises approximately 380 employees. The administration is undergoing changes and developments in several areas such as competence enhancement, research, education, and quality assurance, which brings positive effects for both patients and employees. With person-centered care in focus, we contribute to providing our employees with better conditions and tools to care for our patients with high quality and to offer advice and support to citizens. JOB DESCRIPTION We are now welcoming specialist nurses to join us, with primary placements either in Malmö or Trelleborg. The ambulance is often the first on the scene, and the intervention can be crucial for the patient. As an ambulance nurse, you will work with pre-hospital emergency care, encountering patients of all ages who have suffered from acute illness or injury. You will assess and treat patients at home, at the scene of an accident, and during transport to healthcare facilities. Working as an ambulance nurse is a qualified and independent profession where you have the opportunity to focus on providing good care and demonstrating compassion in every patient encounter. You are part of a team and always work alongside an ambulance care assistant, another nurse, or a specialist-trained nurse, creating a dynamic and supportive work environment. Prior to employment, there will be a selection process consisting of a suitability test in the form of an interview. If you meet our requirements during the interview, you will be invited to a physical test and a driving test. Upon employment, you will receive an introduction lasting approximately seven weeks, tailored to your previous experience and competencies. Our operations run around the clock, year-round. QUALIFICATIONS We are looking for you who are a licensed nurse with the authority to practice within Swedish healthcare. Primarily, we seek those with specialist training in ambulance care, but we also welcome applicants with other relevant specialist training. You must have language skills in Swedish that correspond to at least level C1 according to the Council of Europe’s scale. A valid B driver's license and good driving experience are required for the position. A C1 driver's license or a B license obtained before July 1996 is an advantage. Additionally, we consider it desirable that you have work experience in emergency care. Working in an ambulance requires personal maturity and good judgment. We value that you are confident and well-established in your role as an ambulance nurse. You are engaged in your work, and your willingness to contribute to the development of the operation is of great value. The ambulance service imposes significant medical and technical demands, as well as requirements for flexibility. There are moments in the job where you will face high pressure, but also times that allow for reflection and recovery. You and your colleague play a central role for the patients, and sometimes you will encounter challenging situations. One thing is certain: you make a difference every day for citizens in Region Skåne. Personal suitability is of great importance. In this recruitment, we apply continuous selection. We warmly welcome your application today; we look forward to getting to know you!
