About the Job
We are seeking up to 10 teaching assistants (amanuenses) who will, as needed and agreed, assist course coordinators in their learning activities. Teaching assignments may include classroom instruction, guidance in computer labs or during laboratory exercises, and other tasks, including grading reports, quizzes, etc.
About You
To be employed as a teaching assistant, you must be enrolled in undergraduate or graduate-level higher education.
It is a requirement for the assignment that you have completed relevant courses offered by the Department of Mechanical Engineering, Thermal and Fluid Dynamics at LiU (or equivalent at other institutions). Work tasks are varied and may arise on short notice, requiring flexibility and availability at the university during autumn 2025.
Meritorious for this position is demonstrating documented subject knowledge for the current courses, as well as previous teaching experience. You should be responsible, thorough, have pedagogical skills, and be interested in the subject area. It is also advantageous if you are available for teaching assignments during spring 2026.
Your Workplace
You will work at the Department of Mechanical Engineering, Thermal and Fluid Dynamics (MVS), associated with the Department of Economic and Industrial Development (IEI) and the Faculty of Science and Engineering (LiTH). The department offers a wide range of courses at both basic and advanced levels across multiple educational programs at Linköping University (LiU).
About the Position
A teaching assistant position is regulated by Chapter 5 of the Higher Education Ordinance.
Scope and commencement according to agreement.
Salary and Benefits
Salary according to LiU's central agreement for teaching assistant wages. The position is hourly paid.
