About this role

The Department of Mathematics offers education at the undergraduate, advanced, and doctoral levels in mathematics. The department is responsible for mathematics courses within a range of different study programs at the undergraduate and advanced levels: several different engineering programs, teacher training programs, bachelor's programs in the faculty's areas, and our own programs, including the bachelor's program in mathematics and the master's program in mathematics. The number of employees is approximately 130. The number of full-time students in the undergraduate and advanced education is around 600. For more information, please visit https://math.uu.se/ The research areas of the department include algebra, logic, and representation theory, analysis and partial differential equations, dynamical systems and number theory, geometry and physics, probability theory and combinatorics, as well as statistics, AI, and data science. Tasks The teaching assistant (Amanuens) is a student who, alongside their studies, manages administrative tasks for the Center for Interdisciplinary Mathematics (CIM), which includes participating in the organization of seminars and maintaining the CIM website. Qualification Requirements To be employed as a teaching assistant, it is required that you are admitted to undergraduate or advanced level studies. The applicant must be enrolled and actively studying, for example, mathematics at the undergraduate or advanced level at Uppsala University. Desirable/Additional Merits Experience with similar tasks is advantageous. Significant emphasis will be placed on personal suitability. The application must also contain a CV and a certificate of study results from Ladok. About the Employment This is a fixed-term position according to HF Chapter 5, § 12. The extent is 10%. The start date is January 7, 2026, or as agreed upon. The employment is until December 31, 2026, with a possible extension. Location: Uppsala.
