Workplace Description The work group consists of autopsy technicians, physicians, and other research assistants. At this workplace, clinical autopsy services are performed; determining the cause of death. We are now seeking 11 research assistants for 20% work over two months starting 1/12 2025. The workplace for the research assistant position is locally located at the Autopsy Department, Baravägen 37 in Lund. Read more on the university's website about https://www.lu.se/om-universitetet/jobba-hos-oss Job Responsibilities As a research assistant, you will work on determining the cause of death and examining diseases and other changes. Your tasks within the role may vary, but you must be studying at the faculty where the work will be performed, and the tasks should provide insight into the academic world. In this specific position, you will demonstrate practically how an autopsy is performed, from organ extraction to detailed dissection. Additionally, you will be required to evaluate findings and create a synthesis to draw appropriate conclusions about disease progression and causes of death. After completing the instruction, the research assistant, in consultation with the responsible physician, will formulate a statement that comprehensibly and adequately describes the findings. Materials must also be collected for microscopic analysis - also in agreement with the responsible physician. Working hours will be during daytime. Qualifications Requirements for the position: - You are actively studying in the medical program at the Faculty of Medicine in Lund - You have good knowledge of Swedish and English, both spoken and written - You have passed and completed the pathology course - Good collaborative skills - Good communication skills Meritorious for the position: - Previous experience as a research assistant Additional Information The position is time-limited to 20% for 2 months with a desired start date of 1/12 2025, or by agreement. The employment must not negatively impact the research assistant's studies and cannot be combined with other positions. Regulations regarding educational employment as a research assistant can be found in the Higher Education Ordinance (SFS 2017:284), Chapter 5, Sections 8-12.
