About this role
Do you want to help develop the Financial Supervisory Authority's (Finansinspektionen) work on supervising AI-related risks and contribute to ensuring safe and reliable AI usage within the Swedish financial sector? Then this job is for you!
About the Job
The use of AI within the Swedish financial sector is rapidly increasing, which heightens FI's need to have the capacity and capability for AI supervision within the framework of our existing mission and regulations in the financial sector. Furthermore, the government's AI inquiry has proposed that FI be given a designated supervisory mandate under the EU AI Regulation, which will impose new types of requirements on FI as a supervisory authority and also introduce new responsibilities in the form of various innovation support.
In light of the increased use of AI and a potentially expanded mandate under the AI Regulation, FI needs to establish an internal structure aimed at enhancing the agency's overall capacity and capability regarding AI supervision and other AI-related risks. Within this internal structure, you will work on FI's common policy work, regulatory development, market analysis, guidance, and communication regarding AI usage by institutions under FI's supervision, as well as analysis, monitoring, and risk assessment of other AI-related risks within the financial sector (AI supervision).
You will be responsible for driving and developing FI's work on AI supervision both internally, nationally, and internationally. You will act as FI’s spokesperson on AI supervision issues, managing the dialogue with the Ministry of Finance in this area, and will participate in FI's work within the framework of the EU AI Board, as well as in relevant working groups of the European supervisory authorities EIOPA, ESMA, and EBA. This role also includes coordinating and driving FI’s internal competence development regarding AI supervision issues. You are also expected to participate as a senior AI specialist in the innovation-promoting sandbox projects carried out under the AI Regulation, as well as in the projects and investigations decided upon by the agency's supervisory departments. The work involves close collaboration with FI's innovation center as well as contact and knowledge sharing with departments working on FI's internal usage of various AI technologies.
