We are looking for a people-focused leader who can enable technical experts to succeed. While the current manager is away on a competence development program, you will be appointed as Acting Unit Manager for a Sensor Platform unit, effective from December 1st, 2025 (preferably, but depending on your availability) until March 31st, 2026. As Acting Unit Manager, you will lead a highly skilled engineering team contributing to TRATON’s mission to build the best autonomous systems in the world. You will join a committed management team with a strong collaborative culture, working together to achieve our vision. This interim assignment is a great opportunity to strengthen your leadership experience within TRATON and contribute to shaping our autonomous future. **Job Responsibilities** As Unit Manager, you will: • Lead the strategic direction of the unit, aligning goals with TRATON’s autonomous driving roadmap. • Be responsible for recruitment, competence development, and coaching of your team members. • Drive continuous improvement, ensuring efficient processes and high team engagement. • Collaborate closely with other managers within the Automated Driving organization, contributing to joint strategies and shared success. **Who You Are** You are a proven and naturally engaging leader with strong management skills and a desire to continuously develop your leadership. We highly value leaders who recognize and nurture the potential in others – supporting their growth both in current and future roles. The ability to inspire, empower, and develop people is a sign of great leadership. You have experience in building strong teams, driving cross-functional collaboration, and communicating clearly. You take initiative, demonstrate a structured and analytical approach, and are energized by challenges. To be successful in this role, you likely: • Have a minimum of two years of managerial or leadership experience. • Have an interest in agile system development. • Hold a graduate or master’s degree in engineering (or equivalent qualification). • Possess experience in electronics and embedded system development — experience in sensor development, signal processing, or similar areas is considered a strong merit. • Are fluent in English. • Experience in robotics or autonomous systems is an advantage, and familiarity with TRATON’s methods and processes is considered meritorious. • We believe embracing AI is essential for our continued growth and innovation. You don’t need prior experience with AI, but we do expect curiosity, openness, and a positive attitude toward learning and applying AI in your role. If this description resonates with you, and you recognize yourself in many of these qualities, we welcome your unique perspective and encourage you to apply. **This Is Us** We are a newly formed team within Platform Engineering, working at the heart of TRATON’s journey toward safer and smarter transport through advanced driver assistance and autonomous driving technologies. Our mission is to turn cutting-edge sensing ideas into reliable, scalable solutions that make a real difference on the road. Our team of 16 talented colleagues brings together a great mix of experience and fresh perspectives. We work with a variety of sensor technologies — such as radar, LiDAR, cameras, and more — and collaborate closely with experts in areas like sensor fusion, localization, and computing platforms. What connects us is curiosity, teamwork, and a shared passion for technology that moves the world forward. We’re based in Södertälje, as part of TRATON Group R&D — an inspiring environment where innovation, collaboration, and learning go hand in hand. **Traton Offers** We offer a dynamic, flexible workplace with hybrid work options, including Scania Sergel and Midway hubs. With a structured development plan and courses, TRATON Group R&D supports your career growth both locally and internationally. Benefits include wellness allowance, bonus, flexible hours, and company car leasing.
