Our Operations
The psychiatric care area provides highly specialized care for individuals with severe mental illnesses. Psychiatric Ward 3A is a full-time care unit with 13 care places for investigation, diagnosis, and treatment of patients primarily with affective disorders, mainly bipolar syndrome, severe depression, and anxiety disorders. We also care for patients with eating disorder issues. Four of the care places are dedicated to this treatment.
Your Assignment
Being employed at Ward 3A is an exciting job where you meet many people in various situations. You are part of a team that supports and helps each other while also working independently. Teams include doctors, nursing assistants, care workers, nurses, and counselors. Patients come to us both acutely and planned, and the work pace can be intense at times.
As a nursing assistant, you primarily work with basic psychiatric and somatic nursing care close to the patient. You care for patients with a wide variation of care needs. In collaboration with colleagues from other professional categories, you participate in planning the patient's care and treatment. You engage in supportive conversations and documentation, and perform sample collections and examinations. The workplace is stimulating and offers a blend of somatic and psychiatric care. The position also includes mentoring nursing assistant students.
Your Qualifications
You have a genuine interest in psychiatric nursing care. During selection, we place significant consideration on personal suitability. We expect you to always keep the patient at the center and treat care recipients, relatives, and colleagues with respect and humility. You have the ability to communicate and adapt communication to different needs you encounter. As a person, you are positive, engaged, and thorough. It is important that you have a genuine interest in working with people with psychiatric issues and want to contribute to developing our operations. You are proficient in basic medical technical procedures at the nursing assistant level, such as venous sampling, ECG examinations, and wound care. You enjoy mentoring students and feel comfortable in that role.
Requirements:
• Trained nursing assistant through 3-year healthcare and care program (2500 points), Healthcare and Care Program, Adult Education, three semesters (minimum 1350 points), or equivalent nursing assistant education. (Alternative education will be individually assessed.)
• Documented experience in specialized psychiatric care is meritorious.
