The Department of Law is seeking teaching assistants for the role of student teachers for the first term, starting in the spring semester of 2026.
The course Introduction to Law, General Legal Theory, and Constitutional Law is divided into three modules. The module Introduction to Law covers the fundamentals of practical legal methodology. The module General Legal Theory addresses the basic components and structure of the legal order. The module Constitutional Law deals with the Swedish constitutional framework and the foundations for cooperation within the European Union.
Requirements Profile
According to Chapter 5, Section 10 of the Higher Education Act, only those who are admitted to undergraduate or advanced level education may be employed as teaching assistants.

Job Responsibilities
As a teaching assistant, your tasks may vary, but you must be studying at the faculty where the work will be conducted, and the tasks should provide insight into the academic world.
The responsibilities for this position include:
- Leading various types of application exercises
- Facilitating discussions on study techniques
- Planning and conducting study visits to court hearings in the District Court
- Coaching students in preparation for mandatory group assignments
- Developing and producing course materials as needed
Within the student teacher group, a staff member may later be appointed as the coordinating student teacher. This will add the responsibility of leading the work within the student teacher collective and communication with the instructors, and the scope of employment will increase.
Qualifications
To be eligible for employment as a teaching assistant, you must be actively pursuing studies at the undergraduate and advanced levels at the relevant faculty and have not yet graduated.
Requirements for the position are that you:
- Must be a student in the law program in Lund
- Have a strong interest in general legal theory and constitutional law
- Possess pedagogical skills
- Be able to convey the fundamentals of practical legal methodology
Meritorious for the position:
- We are primarily seeking candidates who are currently in or have previously completed term 5
- Previous teaching experience
Conditions
The position is temporary and will commence on January 14, 2026, or by agreement, and will conclude on June 5, 2026. The position entails a workload of 12% of full-time.
