We are seeking someone to accompany a wonderful 18-year-old girl named Hanna either on Saturdays or Sundays every week from approximately 10:00 AM to 6:00 PM.
Hanna has autism, an intellectual disability, and a muscle disease that requires her to have a personal assistant to help her daily routine function smoothly.
Hanna is a cozy and fun girl when the conditions are right. She has a good sense of humor and enjoys playfulness and silliness. However, she also needs time for recovery. Hanna requires assistance with everything, including mobility, hygiene, meals, dressing and undressing, leisure activities, etc. Hanna needs help with all aspects of life, allowing her to participate in her own life, develop her self-esteem, and maintain and enhance her abilities.
Hanna lives with her family in a house just outside of Västerås, so a driver's license and a car are required for this position.
As an assistant, you will work closely with the family’s life; you will spend a substantial amount of time alone with Hanna, but you will also gain a family dynamic as part of the experience. Personal compatibility is therefore especially important to us. We are a relaxed family where everything can be solved together.
Hanna enjoys music and dance, going for walks, watching TV, or playing with her tablet.
Who are we looking for?
We are looking for someone with the ability to meet Hanna where she is in life at this moment. As a person, you must be able to see opportunities instead of difficulties. We seek a calm, reliable individual who brings energy and commitment to the job. You should be easygoing with a slightly quirky personality, flexible, and possess a great deal of patience. We welcome applicants with experience in visual support, augmentative and alternative communication (AAC), clear communication strategies, and experience with low-arousal engagement.
1. You must be a non-smoker.
2. Hold a valid driver’s license and have a car.
3. Be okay with cats, as we have one in the family.
4. Have experience with intellectual disabilities and autism.
5. Good physical fitness is a plus, as there are physical tasks involved, given Hanna's active lifestyle.

Salary: Fixed hourly rate by agreement. Other compensations according to collective agreements.
Working hours / Duration: Working hours are scheduled between approximately 10:00 AM and 6:00 PM on Saturdays or Sundays each week. The position is for 20%.
Start date: Immediately for training.
