Job Description: Senior Social Worker - Children and Youth Department

Children and Youth Department
The Children and Youth Department is organizationally part of the Care Administration, Overarching Division. The "Children and Youth" unit consists of 16 social workers and two senior social workers.
The team is divided into investigative social workers and child secretaries with primary responsibility for foster children, including certain residential care placements.

We are seeking a candidate with several years of experience in the field. Previous leadership experience is meritorious but not required. The most important aspects are extensive knowledge of the area and current legislation, meeting educational requirements, and possessing the personal qualities needed for a senior social worker role. Good knowledge of unaccompanied minor processes is mandatory.
Your Mission
We are looking for a confident and independent senior social worker for our relatively new investigative group. Together with the group's manager, you will lead the work in a constructive and efficient manner, focusing on high quality, development, and a positive work environment.
Responsibilities include:
- Distributing cases and providing methodological guidance individually and in groups
- Planning and structuring operations through an annual planning cycle
- Creating security and support for social workers in relation to political expectations
- Participating in various collaborative teams and development projects
- Staying updated on social services news and proposing changes in guidelines, routines, and templates
- Ensuring good governance and legal certainty with the unit manager
- Mentoring new social workers
The role also involves:
- Representing the unit in the Care Committee and Administrative and Chamber Courts
- Participating in the work group's closest management team
- Participating in external group supervision and internal meetings with other senior social workers

Required Qualifications:
- Social work degree or equivalent education per National Board of Health and Welfare regulations
- Strong self-confidence and ability to professionally manage various stakeholders
- Ability to build trust and engagement while maintaining professional distance
- Experience in the field and knowledge of relevant legislation
- Strong communication skills, verbal and written
- Flexibility and stress resistance
- Collaboration skills with ability to work independently
- Problem-solving orientation
- Valid driver's license (B-license)
