Position Description
The Coast Guard is seeking a Chief Engineer for the offshore patrol vessel KBV 181, stationed at the coastal station in Umeå.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Manage operation and maintenance of vessel machinery and equipment
- Responsible for vessel firefighting
- Report inspections in the AMOS maintenance system
- Participate in training new personnel
- Potentially act as deck supervisor during intervention operations
- Perform additional tasks as directed by the captain and technical chief
Qualifications:
- Machine technical certification class MC
- Valid 2-year medical certificate
- Approved basic safety training
- Advanced firefighting training
Additional Required Competencies:
- Food hygiene training
- Leadership and work environment training
- General DIP training
Requirements:
- Swedish citizenship
- Personal vehicle driver's license
- Drug test
- Security clearance
- Willingness to serve in international missions
This is a temporary position until April 1, 2027, with immediate start possible.
