The Center for Health Economic Research at Uppsala University is an interdisciplinary research center aimed at promoting effective resource utilization within healthcare and improving population health.
The center is a collaboration between the Subject Area of Medicine and Pharmacy and the Faculty of Social Sciences, based on a multidisciplinary perspective that combines various competencies. The ambition is to break new ground within the center's research areas.
The Department of Medical Sciences is a large clinical institution with approximately 250 employees and over 900 affiliated with Uppsala University Hospital. The department has a broad research profile with strong research groups in several areas. Research is conducted in close connection with clinical activities at Uppsala University Hospital and includes both fundamental studies on disease causes and the development and evaluation of improved diagnostics and new treatment methods. **Job Responsibilities**
We are looking for a research assistant for a temporary position at the Center for Health Economic Research. The role involves assisting various research projects within the center under supervision, as well as performing administrative tasks related to the research projects and the center. As a research assistant, you will work closely with researchers and assist them with everything from data collection and data processing to providing advanced econometric and statistical analysis in research projects with large register-based datasets.
**Qualifications**
The applicant should hold a master's degree focused on quantitative analysis, for example, in economics. Excellent proficiency in English is required, along with a genuine interest in research and social issues. The applicant should also have documented knowledge of microdata econometric methods and experience working with quantitative datasets. Personal qualities such as collaboration and initiative, flexibility, and the ability to independently analyze data are highly valued.
**Desirable/Additional Qualifications**
Experience with software such as R and Stata, as well as conducting compilations of institutional conditions, is considered particularly meritorious. Experience working with geographical health inequalities and documented interest in health economics is also advantageous.
**About the Position**
The position is temporary for 4 months. The employment rate is 100%, with a start date of February 1 or as agreed. The position is located at the Department of Medical Sciences, with the workplace at the facilities of the Center for Health Economic Research in Uppsala.
